ISINNOVA is seeking a Communication Specialist – Junior to join its Communication Team. The position has a strong hands-on orientation and combines technical and creative skills to support the management and development of ISINNOVA’s digital, editorial, graphic and multimedia communication activities, both at company level and across the projects in which the institute is involved.

The role is aimed at professionals with up to 3 years of experience in communications, who will actively help transform complex content into clear, engaging, and high-impact communication materials.

The position reports to the Head of Content and works closely with researchers, project managers and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Company communication and outreach

  • Support the day-to-day operational management of the ISINNOVA website (WordPress front-end), in coordination with external providers for back-end activities.
  • Draft, update and manage digital content, including news, calls to action, homepage and institutional pages.
  • Contribute to the planning, publication and monitoring of content across ISINNOVA’s social media channels (LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Support SEO optimisation activities, both technical and content based.
  • Produce graphic and multimedia content (infographics, editorial visuals, short videos).
  • Support media relations activities, including the creation and maintenance of a media database and corporate outreach actions.

Project communication, PR and dissemination for company projects

  • Support the management and updating of project websites and online platforms.
  • Contribute to the operational management of project social media channels and digital campaigns.
  • Develop editorial, visual and multimedia content for project communication and dissemination activities.
  • Support media engagement and digital outreach and networking activities.
  • Continuously monitor communication activities and content performance.

Language Requirements

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Italian and English.

Editorial, Communication and PR Skills

  • Educational background or professional experience in communication, PR or related fields.
  • Experience in content management and SEO-oriented content writing.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesise complex content and work to deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and analytics tools.
  • Ability to identify, engage and cultivate relationships with relevant media and stakeholders over time.

Technical and Digital Skills

  • Solid command of WordPress (front-end) and basic knowledge of UX principles.
  • Knowledge of technical and content SEO.
  • Experience with social media management tools.
  • Familiarity with newsletter and outreach tools (e.g. Brevo, Mailchimp or equivalent).
  • Basic video-editing and multimedia production skills
  • Familiarity with digital analytics and performance monitoring tools.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Graphic and Creative Skills

  • Use of Canva and generative AI tools applied to communication.
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Skills in information design and visual storytelling solutions.

Organisational, Interpersonal and Cross-cutting Skills

  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-functional environments.
  • Pragmatic, proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Creativity and ability to bring original perspectives to digital communication and storytelling.
  • Sensitivity to current affairs, emerging topics, trends and societal challenges.
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills.
