Visions of the future and the European Research Framework Programme (FP9)

In the latest issue (June 2017 – in Italian) of APRE (Agency for the Promotion of European Research) magazine, Andrea Ricci reflects on the BOHEMIA project, on the next EU Research Framework Programme (FP9), and on future challenges and solutions.

The project describes two possible future scenarios: one of Perseverance, in which Europe is unable or unwilling to effectively address the challenges of the future, and one of Change, which sees a proactive Europe transform crisis into opportunity. In both scenarios, the advancement of science and technology takes on a crucial role, underlining the fundamental importance of research and the need for an ambitious Framework Programme.
