About I3U

Innovation lies at the heart of the Europe 2020 strategy, aimed at confronting major societal challenges such as the increase of global competition, the current economic crisis, climate change, energy and resource scarcity, and health and ageing. The Innovation Union has the objective of strengthening Europe’s potential for innovation, and has set out 13 general objectives and 34 specific policy commitments associated with these objectives.
The I3U project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, will deliver a system of assessment for these commitments by evaluating the state of achievement of the individual commitments, their effects on the innovation system, and the wider economic effects of innovation.
